Membership of the Association is open to all professionals who are active in the field of laser safety, in any area of laser application, who have –

-     extensive experience of, and involvement in, laser safety,
-     substantial understanding of laser safety,
-     a professional attitude and approach to laser safety.

Candidates for membership are assessed on the basis of a written application and a subsequent interview, and must be able to demonstrate their understanding and ability. Successful applicants who are granted Membership of the Association are also awarded accreditation as Laser Protection Advisers (LPA's) in the particular field or fields (i.e. in medical & cosmetic applications or in general or industrial applications) in which they have demonstrated their competence.
